Sunday is almost always my lazy day/preparation night! I laz around all day and then around 8pm the process starts! I send a good hour or two in the kitchen making my food for the entire week, this makes week night preparation to a minimal.
so here is what I got up to this evening! I recently purchased the Tone It Up meal plan, so a lot of my meals are inspired by their meals in the plan.
so my weekend was pretty good but seemed pretty short! GAH
last nigth was one of my best girls birthday so we all got dressed up, drank and danced the night away! and ofcourse with girls and drinks comes some heart to heart! as mentioned in my last blog I have been struggling with my body image and food, and although i dont know what it is and why I am this way I have come to realize that I compare. I compare my self to everyone and everything! What i really need to be doing is focusing on myself and only that. Embrace who I am and stop comparing myself to something I will never be. I am me and i need to learn to love it! I think everyone should.

Everybody Is looking forward to the Weekend!
Hey there,
I have to start off by saying TGIF!! This 4 day week felt extra-long... hopefully next week’s full 5 days does not get the best of me. That being said this was a very busy week and I had every single night full with dinner plans, meetings and appointments. It was a good week but like i said TGIF!
Tuesday I had five if my best university girls come over for dinner. It was delish! The menu consisted of my own rendition of the Tone It Up Girls sweet potato fires (always a hit), chicken breast with some amazing seasoning (I wish I remembered what I did), steamed broccoli then stir fried with carrots and union in a balsamic vinegar, a lovely spinach salad thanks to my dear friend Chantelle and for desert apple slices mixed with cinnamon and coconut oil and heated in the oven! It was great! The girls also brought an unreal amount of cookie dough, bread and butter and some amazing homemade desserts that were shipped over from a very nice mother! There was a lot of conversation and of course The Hills playing in the background (A reoccurring event in my apartment). Good food and good company! what else could I ask for! But i will say that the second the girls left the bread and cookie dough went straight into the trash... yes it is true. I love a good treat but I would be the first (well almost the firs)t to say I have issues with food and in the battle between the entire tube of cookie dough and me well let’s just say I would not be the victorious one. Don’t get me wrong I love goodies, but I try to keep the treats out of my apartment or else there is no stopping me! Yes, this is something i am working on.
Moving on……I had the same lunch every day this week as I usually do, since I do most preparation on Sunday. I must say that this combination was excellent! Strips of cooked tempeh, 1 tbs of spicy mustard, 2 pieces of kale, 1/2 a chopped apple, and 1/4 of dried quinoa cooked. and of course 1/4 avocado on the side! yumm
Another new favourite of mine is my new afternoon snack of veggies dipped in plain Greek yogurt! You should all seriously go right now and try this combo!
well I am off to make some healthy yummy muffins! Since I eat the last batch in about 48 hours! of course I did. This time I will freeze them so i don’t end up having none for when I really need them!

I have officially been working for three weeks now! I am in the routine of the job. I like what I am doing for the most part and it will be killer on my resume post-graduation but i do have one slight problemo!
My cubical is soo boring! It is diffidently in need of some love! Any ideas?? I was thinking a pencil holder, cute mug and maybe a plant... or a fake plant that looks real? hmm

These are a few of my favourite things
well i am back from my somewhat long hiatus, exams of over I am finally settled into my job and i am ready to get back into my weight loss, food, and general lifestyle blog.
I must admit my food and exercise routine has not been the best and I have def been really struggling in recent days. But I know what i truly want and the only person that is going to get me that is me myself and I.
So I have been really enjoying favourites blogs and since I have had a good month to accumulate some new loves... what not better to do then make my own little favourite things blog! am I right

1) Avocado! 1/4 of this baby after a nice lunch is probably one of the most amazing discoveries of my life. I just live em!
2) Temphe
OOOH MY! too good for words. I love slicing it up and toasting it into crispy chips or mashing it up and mix it with some spicy mustard! great all around
3) Finding new music. I always go through stages with music but lately it is so fun to find new songs! some new workout music would be great especially with my recent dwindling friendship with the gym.... im sure some new good tracks would give me some motivation.
4) Candles! ughhh! I seriously cannot get enough! i am constantly burning them! love!

A clean room and liquid diet days
A rut is a rut and you can’t just be out of one in 24 hours’ time. BUT! I did make some progress :) my room is clean and i can see my floor!! Hurray
yeeee! I diffidently still have some sorting to do but we are making progress people. The gym is still a no go as I am in excruciating pain without my trusty Advil liquid gels! I am hoping to get out with my running group on Sunday and do a somewhat terrifying 14K!! ahhh usually I love my Sunday long runs but being out for 10 days makes me feel like it might be somewhat less enjoyable than usual.
Alright! So this morning I woke up to a lovely breakfast in bed :) Thursday is one of my more low key mourning days and I usually take the time eat my breaky slowing and catch up on one of many many shows today it was Teen Mom 2! hehe and then hit the gym!! not today though :(

1/2 cup of steal cut oats (cooked in my rice cooker)
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 tbs of ground flaxseed
lotss a cinnamon
Some unsweetened coco powder
1 tsb of coconut oil
It wasn’t may fav and I do admit that I am missing my regular steel cut and apples! omggggg. can’t wait till my wisdom teeth wounds heal and I can get my hands on that delicious bowl of yumminess :) I will for sure be filling you in on what it entails, don’t you fret!
The rest of the days food was pretty boring and in liquid form. I had my favourite green monster combo for dinner and some frozen fruit heated in the microwave with my favourite rooibos tea!
oh and a kiwi!!
The picture of my green monster didn’t work out so well but it consisted off
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 blue berries
- A handful of spinach
- 1 scoop or vanilla flavoured protein powder
- a scoop of raw maca powder
- 1tbs of ground flax
- 1tbs ground salba
- and or course cinnamon
This is delish!! I highly recommend the combo. I got it from a blog a long time ago and have modified it with time to the way I like it best thoughout my many attempts.
Well I am off to bed! I have to work at 8am and now that I am somewhat willing and able I realized at school today that my to do list is unreal!! It is going to be a busy weekend for me! yike I hope my wisdom teeth pain days of laziness haven’t ruined me too much! On a brighter note tomorrow is my school society formal :) so it will be a good night and I will for sure be posting pictures for you all!

The RUT!!
Yes it is true, I am in a rut!! Lifestyle wise at least... I am not paying attention to my body and it is diffidently taking a toll on me. It is just one on of those times of the year where there is something new going on every week and it knocks me off my routine. I DO NOT like this, let’s just say I am a routine kinda girl. Anyways the last thing to throw me off my routine was the extraction of my wisdom teeth, OUCH. It gave me quite the betting and I am still recovering from an infection that decided to take up residence in one of the sockets. so i spent i week in bed, eating not the healthy food, obviously didn’t hit the gym let alone walk for more than 10minuets and last but not least allowed my room to become one giant pool of a mess. So now that i am finally able to live my life once again, I need a plan of action to get my touchy back on track!!
to do list!!
- Clean my room!!! this includes putting away laundry, making my bed, vacuuming, blah blah blah basically the usual. But i would also love to get some reorganization and decorating in on the action as well
- Get to the gym. once my body is willing and able that is.... it done want to ruin a good thing (a good thing being my recovery)
- Get those eating habits in check! no more junk please!! I need fruit and veggies and my body knows it.
- Focus! i only have one more month of school... one more month!!!You can do it. and on top of that a job search and work for my internship would be lovely
Okay i think that is all that need to be accomplished in my life! I am about to hit they hey and start fresh tomorrow!!
Oh did i mention that Friday is my student society’s annual formal!! i have go the look, still not 100% on it,, but I am broke (especially since i had to cancel on two shifts due to the week of death i just endured) anyways i want to look fabulous! Fingers crossed.... i do tend to be my toughest critic.
